Lisa Rice has always believed if you do what you love the rest will follow.

For Lisa, that first love was PR. Lisa spent 12 years in the music business working with some of the most popular and iconic artists of our time: Lenny Kravitz, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Sinead O’Connor, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Jeff Buckley, Fiona Apple, T Bone Burnett, and many more. From developing emerging talent to booking artists on The Tonight Show and in Rolling Stone, Lisa has always thrived on the challenge of creating opportunities for her clients.

Fresh out of NYU journalism school, Lisa began as an intern at Polygram Records, was then recruited by Virgin, and ultimately worked her way up to Vice President of National Media for Columbia Records.  She went on to head up the PR department for the legendary Sire Records before leaving the business to pursue another love. She earned a Masters of Traditional Oriental Medicine, built a successful acupuncture practice in Santa Monica, and started treating some of the same rock stars she once represented.

You can take the girl out of the publicity department, but ...

After the birth of her son Judah everything changed; nothing was more important to Lisa than motherhood. In 2005 Lisa, David, and their toddler son Judah moved to Austin to put down roots and enjoy the town they’d fallen in love with over many trips to SXSW. Lisa spent the first two years in Austin giving her full attention to Judah, and with him thriving it was back to work.

As she flourished in the holistic health care field, Lisa was unintentionally becoming a sounding board for friends, students, and patients who needed help marketing their passions. Lisa truly enjoyed her work, but she couldn’t ignore how invigorating it was when she was called on to brainstorm ideas for these new business ventures.  Before she knew it Lisa was booking her friends on TV, radio and in local newspapers.

The voice grew louder until...

So after happily helping people overcome back pain and migraines, Lisa started listening. She’s still helping people through acupuncture, herbs, and diet consultation, and has a new mission with Rice Brand Media: helping people and businesses who are making positive change in the world.  Start up holistic health care companies. People helping others make good choices. Non-profits helping the environment, the hungry and the homeless. Musicians and artists. And change-makers doing what THEY love.

do what you love. we’ll do the rest.
